Our Tropical Isopod papaya bark works as diet foliage and habitat. The isopods use the bark as hide, then there’s the inside of the bark which is more layered and intricate which is used as a habitat for them maintaining more humidity inside, and lastly, it is completely biodegradable working as a source of diet for certain protein hungry species. I have some of my Porcellio Leavis and Dilatus cultures that use it as shelter and also consume it heavy. The scabers also love to consume it. On the armadillidium and the Cubaris, they don’t munch on it as much but the babies benefit from it lots. They use the complete layers of the bark for the mancae to find shelter.
All of our leaf litter for sale is 100% Chemical and pest free! Isopods should always have a constant source of leaf litter. This allows them to slowly break own the organic material as well as offering shelter under the leafs.
As seen on our Instagram page @Tropicalisopods
